ORDER vs. DISORDER

Order and structure seems to be the word for MHC this summer.  This began the first week of June and continues to challenge us every week.   I’ve been personally challenged to increase the level of Godly order, not just in myself, but also in my family and church.  Here are some thoughts on order and disorder:

  • The health of individuals, families, businesses, organizations and churches is always determined  by their ability to obtain and maintain the ongoing process of order.
  • Disorder is the antagonist of success.
  • Obtaining and maintaining order is winning half the battle.
  • Order is the derivative of Godly faithfulness.
  • Order is the understanding of priorities.
  • Unfortunately, by nature, we will always gravitate toward chaos and disorder.
  • Disorder will consume every part of our lives if not kept at bay.
  • Disorder taxes productivity and causes us to fall short of our potential.
  • Order positions us for maximum productivity.  It allows us to leverage all the potential we’ve been given.
  • Order declares the truth to our situation.
  • Disorder causes us to justify our actions.
  • Disorder is the perfect environment of containment.
  • Order is the understanding and acceptance of Lordship.
  • Order is a prerequisite to prosperity
  • Poverty is a consequence of disorder.
  • To the disorderly, order appears to be confinement but to the orderly, disorder is a regrettable decadence.
  • Order is costly but has great returns.
  • Disorder is also costly but with no returns.
  • Disorder gives birth to chaos and anarchy.
  • Order gives birth to authority and influence.

Lord, lead me in Your Divine Order…

Order is hard but is worth paying the price for. Wanting to stay in my comfort zone is one of the many reasons why disorder is taking place in my life. I want to live in the order that comes in line with the Word of God.

At times when my life is completely in disorder that is when I go through chaos and I just have to sit and look at everything and ask God to help me put everything back in order. I have learned with chaos we will never achieve the purpose and the plan that God has for us. Let’s surrender to God and start putting even the little things back in order.

These are excellent points Pastor. Living in chaos, disorganization, and procrastination only brings about the re-living of the same problems and issues, and regression instead of progression.

That’s very powerful. So doing right has it’s advantages, but doing wrong not so much.

In the process of becoming in order we must trust in the One that in the beginning were able to bring the whole universe in order through His Word.
    Speak Lord….

    Great points!

As someone who works at a construction site I can tell you that getting things in order takes time, planning and conscious effort on everyones behalf. Each person has an individual task to complete the building and if one person does not do things in proper order, the whole team and project suffers and adjustments need to be made and replanning needs to take place to maintain forward progress in proper order. You can’t can’t skip steps and you can’t try to rush the work to get it done faster. Everything in it’s proper place and time. Just stick to the plan. Do what you know you are supposed to do. Evaluate your condition consistently, make all necessary adjustments and keep moving forward.

    All great points.

As someone working at a construction site I can tell you that getting things in order takes time, planning and conscious effort on everyone’s behalf…

You have to first survey the land and then there is a plan that is laid out in order to make a fully functional building. Each person is assigned a responsibility and is responsible for maintaining proper order in that area. There is a constant evaluating of the integrity of the structure being built. If something is out of order than adjustments are made and the issue is immediately corrected in order to maintain forward progress. When things are out of order it makes the whole project suffer… there has to be re-planning & readjusting and the amount of time the project would have been completed in is now delayed.

Same applies for our spiritual lives. We have to make sure to consistently evaluate the integrity of our lives and make necessary adjustments in order to effectively carry out the plan of God. Things don’t just fall into order and it does not happen overnight. It is up to every one of us as individuals to evaluate, plan, adjust, move forward. As disorder in our lives is revealed to us we re-plan, readjust and make necessary changes.

Thank God that even though we may have a lot to put in order and it will take time and effort, His plan for our lives may be delayed but not denied.

As I continue to focus on increasing my GODLY order I will grow in all areas of my life.

Because I am living for and by HIS word and always searching for my purpose:
GOD will always be holding my hand and will guide me in the right direction toward
    my destiny.

With order comes the potential to do great things, it allow you to accomplish your dreams and it helps you develop and grow into a more mature person. For example in your finances, influence and with your personal goals.

    Excellent…..thanks for sharing!

  14. Johnny on July 8, 2010 at 9:26 AM

I think all the points listed can be classified as sub points to the first mentioned. “The health of individuals, families, businesses, organizations and churches is always determined by their ability to obtain and maintain the ongoing process of order.” The bible clearly states that God is a God of order. This statement is not based upon a one time action performed by the hand of God but rather His nature. The ongoing process of order in our lives can only be maintained when it becomes who we are not simply what we do. We must embrace order in every area of our life.

  15. @ldo on July 8, 2010 at 9:28 AM

I can definitely identify with most of the points that you describe. Each one of the thoughts mentioned will be real to one extent in someone’s life. If you live in disorder you reap the fruits and consequences of it, if you leave in order then you will see and reap the fruit of your lifestyle. Two of the points that got me thinking the most are the ones that say that both of them, order and disorder are costly, but one has great returns and one has none.

  16. Enio on July 8, 2010 at 9:46 AM

I for one deffiinitely need order back in my life. But it is much easier to live in disorder rather than order. Mostly because living in disorder is effortless it requires no work, but it leaves you with nothing. Where as living in order requires constant manitenance, and makes you prepared and ready for what God has for you.

  17. April on July 8, 2010 at 10:06 AM

Great ones. The one that stuck out to me most was “Order is the understanding of priorities.” It’s simple and you automatically know to prioritize the big things, but it’s the small things that get lost in there. Brings in mind to me of being faithful in the small.

  18. GLENNA on July 8, 2010 at 11:09 AM

Great points to ponder and measure my life against….and you are right, it is always easier to obtain than maintain…I believe that’s my greatest hurdle, so I’ll add to your prayer “and help me to remain there!’

  19. Simone on July 8, 2010 at 11:37 AM

AWESOME! Through out these past few weeks the Holy Spirit has revealed many places of disorder in my life. Identifying it is one step but the harder steps are to bring it in order and maintain that order. My desire and goal is to bring all aspects of my life (both physical and spiritual) in order, it’s time to move forward!

  20. Joselyn on July 8, 2010 at 11:55 AM

    AMEN!!!

  21. Philip on July 8, 2010 at 11:56 AM

We all need order and those that think they dont need order is the one that needs it the most. We must learn to put first things first in our lives so that we may become fruitful. When disorder is rampant in our lives it sets us back from reaching our goals and dreams. Great blog Pastor.

  22. Mel on July 8, 2010 at 2:08 PM

Living a life of order is not just for our own, but we must understand it affects others as well, from our families to our church – it should be our desire to live a life of order

  23. Jalina on July 8, 2010 at 3:40 PM

These are ver good points that need to be read daily. It will help me to continue to bring order in my life. Thank you for the points.

  24. Manny on July 8, 2010 at 5:06 PM

Well Pastor they were pretty good points and its true if we don’t have order your life will be out of order. we just need to stay focus and don’t let anything get in the way.

  25. Andrea on July 8, 2010 at 8:36 PM

obtaining order in my life is not the hard part, for me, it’s maintaining order and being consistent but I will forever be diligent at working on it. They say, “Awareness is the first step to recovery” so at least I’m not in denial about the fluctuation of order & disorder in my life.

  26. Cesare on July 8, 2010 at 8:45 PM

I agree with you Pastor, order is necessary in the corporate house as well as our individual houses. It’s difficult to function or function properly in chaotic environments.

  27. victor Williams on July 9, 2010 at 5:39 PM

The Bible states that the steps of a Godly man (person) are ordered by the Lord. I am currently focusing on simply being holy as God is Holy, with an understanding that once my life lines up with the principles of the word of God, I will see the favour of God blossom in my life simply by default.

  28. Stephen on July 9, 2010 at 8:59 PM

Order is something that we all need. Me personally, I have been slowly making changes in getting in order. Even though I find myself resisting the change. But I will continue to push for it, because I know that I need it, and my family need it. Great points sir. Just copied and pasted them to my notes.

  29. JessiD on July 9, 2010 at 10:15 PM

Great points Pastor! points that I will meditate and apply in my life. God is bring divide order no only to you but to us too.

  30. Janet on July 10, 2010 at 10:48 AM

Amen!! Let’s God guide us to divine order. Awesome points Pastor!!!

  31. Junior on July 10, 2010 at 7:16 PM

This is a season for spring cleaning for our family. God is clearing house in our household. Our lives have been turning inside out and it’s bring order to our house. I love and hate this situation since it’s hurting the mess out of me but I know it’s going to produce a foundation that will last a life time.

  32. Katia on July 12, 2010 at 7:18 PM

Great blog! Order or disorder always starts with small steps. We just need to make decisions whether to apply and follow them.

  33. gjstfhill on July 15, 2010 at 2:34 AM

Wow! Thanks for the much needed schooling on order and disorder. I will take it, run with it and start to apply it to my everyday life.

  34. zayne on July 20, 2010 at 4:59 PM

I like this blog because it talks about how order keeps everything in balance and how disorder turns everything into chaos so I rather live in order than in disorder anytime.
