THE KING IS COMING

Last night, I waited with anticipation to see if “the king” Lebron James, was was signing with our Miami Heat. The moment of anticipation was orchestrated very well by the NBA and ESPN. It will forever be one of those moments in which you would remember where you were and what you were doing when it occurred (for sports fans at least – ).

As I was waiting with anticipation, I heard within me, “You are in anticipation waiting for Lebron James, who basketball fans call “The King,” was coming to Miami; why can’t you live in expectation and anticipation for the coming of the “KING of KINGS”? And with that, I stood corrected once again…

Yes, as sure as Labron James is coming to Miami, Jesus is coming for His church. Come Lord JESUS…. And Go HEAT!!!

Yes we got some good players on the Heat now. LOL Yes He is coming for His church and we need to be ready!!

Yes the King is coming to His church and we are preparing ourselves for Him as we wait in anticipation and expectation.

On another note, I never knew there were so many basketball fans…my FB is flooded with all the NEW Miami Heat fans 🙂

The King is coming indeed. Why is Labron James being hailed a King? The greatest ever Michael Jordon was never hailed King. How dare they?

It is the excitement and anticipation of the coming of our Lord that keeps me waking up in the morning. Remembering that there will come a day where all of our tears are wiped away (yes, just like the song) is fuel to keep pushing.
As for the heat, this is going to be my first time going to a game…. can’t wait!!!!!

Lol, well congrats Miami. And I agree felt guilty myself. How silly we are.

  7. Ruday Ichiban on July 9, 2010 at 5:46 PM

The anticipation of the return of our King is something that should excite us in our daily christian walk. As for the excitement I experienced last night, it should never exceed the excitement I have for the returning of Jesus Christ.
    GO HEAT!!!

Since I am not a big basketball fan, I will not ruin it for those who are. Praying we could have the same and even more enthusiasm for the King of Kings when we worship him on Sunday morning, and everyday in our own prayer closet.

  11. Cindy Shappy on July 9, 2010 at 9:01 PM

It is easy to get caught up with what is going on in this world today: and that is O.K. for the
moment as long as we don’t lose sight of the one and only king “Our LORD” We live for him
because HE died for us for he is the only way and our light.

  12. Stephen on July 9, 2010 at 9:05 PM

Yes I need that same anticipation and I will continue to build that expectation. On another note. Lebron coming to Miami isn’t a big deal. He turned his back on Cleveland which wasn’t right. And now we know he will never be another Michael Jordan, or even a Kobe Bryant. I will never be a Heat fan. Sorry.

  13. JessiD on July 9, 2010 at 10:11 PM

you right Pastor even people that didn’t know who is the king “labrom James” were in expectation and anticipation (including me) for his decision to sign in with the Heat, therefore I should be in expectation and anticipation for the real king of kings.

  14. Jalina on July 9, 2010 at 11:36 PM

I will not burst anyone’s bubble, not a basketball fan. We must daily live in expectation and anticipation of the coming of our Savior. Praying that we can all have the same attitude when he arrives.

  15. Manny on July 9, 2010 at 11:45 PM

Well Pastor we are glad that the heat got Lebron James and I can’t wait for the Kings of kings to come to our chruch. we just need to stay focus on who is our king and open our hearts for him.

I think we keep so much expectation on things of the natural or worldly rather than the spiritual because the natural we can see and the super natural we can’t. But I think that when we keep a relationship with God, with loyalty and focus 24/7 we will always be in expectation.

Can some one please buy me and the Boys some tickets for a few 2010/2011 Heat games? For all the skeptics out there, like Steven, I know its been said before, but, Lebron coming to MIA, is nothing short of Historic, who can compare. In my country, with Sir Dwayne, King James, and the rest, this is what we refer to as a ‘BOM SQUAD!!!’ I think it even had Biblical ramifications. Well, maybe I am getting a little carried away here, a little fanatical.
I think I definitely need to be ‘Bonkers’ for JESUS, the same way I feel about the mIAmi hEaT. Like you said pastor, I really need to evaluate my priorities.
I often wonder if I’ve done, or am doing enough for Him before he says it’s time to go and be with him in the air.
P.S. this one is for all the skeptics out there, if you can’t beat the BOOM SQUAD! you might as well join them.

That speaks badly for me then. My coworkers were asking if I saw “it”. I didn’t know what they were talking about. I was late. Not good to be the last to know, you miss out that way.

I love that the KING of KINGS will be visiting our church sooner than we think. I can’t wait for Jesus to be exalted in our lives as we cheer Him on in our church services. Welcome LeBron to Miami but Welcome my Lord Jesus to your house we are in eager anticipation. Please NO vuvuzela!!!!!!! LOL.

  20. AD on July 10, 2010 at 9:09 PM

Our King is coming and His Train will fill the house and His Glory will penetrate into the deepest parts of our hearts and overflow in our midst… I wait for it….

Ohh yeah, Big welcome to our new players to the Heat….

  21. Mel on July 10, 2010 at 10:27 PM

Definitely we must be ready when He comes! – not a fan…but I’ll cheer with you all GO HEAT!

  22. Joselyn on July 10, 2010 at 11:32 PM

    I don’t follow basketball so……….
On the other hand I could apply this in my life as how much expectation I had for the soccer world cup and how easily I could lose focus and have the wrong priorities….thank God for His Holy Spirit whom keeps us in check and for His mercy!!!

As a outsider (I do not follow NBA) I thing that the worst enemy these 3 musketeers will have is their own egos (personally I think they will trip on their egos)… but again I really don’t care if Miami Heat or any sport team win or lose, what tangible difference it would make in my and others lives? NONE.
Now when the real King of King, Jesus Christ come to our city we can count on a total inside out transformation…
    Yes , come soon Jesus.

  24. @ldo on July 12, 2010 at 9:04 AM

    go heat…

  25. Johnny on July 12, 2010 at 9:11 AM

I made plans to put myself in the perfect position to view Lebron’s decision. Nothing was going to stand in my way. I must do so daily in anticipation and preparation for Him. Nothing can stand in our way!

  26. Katia on July 12, 2010 at 7:15 PM

    Amen!

  27. Andrea on July 13, 2010 at 11:47 AM

I wish the rest of the WORLD (period) would be as excited (period) about the KING of KINGS as they are about Lebron “King” James. I mean don’t get me wrong, I am a Heat fan and I support the hometeam and all but why does the world put so much energy and emphasis on people who do nothing or offer nothing to the world but entertainment. And if I sound bitter, it’s because I am – We pay people millions and millions of dollars to PLAY games and people like me who shape the lives of young people struggle to make 40K – this world is unfair and unbalanced BUTTTTTTT thank God for the kingdom that is to come – so yes come KING JESUS!

  28. Jahazyel Martin on July 13, 2010 at 2:03 PM

Let’s get ready for Jesus’s coming. Also, let us tell strangers, friends and family so they are ready. They Heat may finally win another championship.

  29. DMc on July 13, 2010 at 5:49 PM

Reminds me of Mark 10:18…If Jesus took the time to correct him there, it is certain and not an exageration that the same holds true forever and always. I’ve relazed that it’s unreasonable to be in constant expectation of a move of God if not in constant posture (right standing / righteous living) for a move of God, according strictly to His standards…never mine, and certainly not the world’s.

I’ m glag the Heat got LBJ but he’s no king. He’s more like a prince. Kobe is the best by far.

  31. Enio on July 14, 2010 at 9:24 AM

I know what you mean, not in this case because I personaly don’t care much for sports. But I have put other things before God and was convicted about it.

  32. zayne on July 20, 2010 at 5:05 PM

I like this blog because it talks about how we wait for the king to show up to Miami but I shore can’t wait for Jesus shows up at the church, go Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!
