HOW TO KEEP WINNING

2 Corinthians 2:14
…but thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

It is in your design and make-up to win.  God, your designer and maker, fashioned you to overcome and win at all times. That is what “more than conquerors” do.  He loves when you achieve victory in the fulfilling of your purpose.  Knowing that God designed us to win is great, applying it in our lives in another story.  Our problem has never been knowing whether we will can overcome life’s challenges, we hear enough sermons on that; the problem has always been in having the discipline to apply the principles that lead to victories.

The neat thing about God is that even in our failures we win.  It is through our failures that he teaches us wisdom and understanding.  It is in our failures that we learn to trust and rely on Him more than ever.  Go GOD!

Below are two traits of a man and woman of God who understand winning. I make it my  goal to continually infuse these two qualities in my character until they become part of my culture.

1. Strength in Focus.
The ability to focus is a determining factor between winners and losers. Concentration is an art taught by successful coaches.  The capability to block out all distractions will determine the success of an athlete.  The same holds true with the Christian believer.  Most people are overwhelmed because of broken focus. Broken focus can come in many ways.  It can come via the jeers or cheers of people.  It can come in victories or defeats.  It can come in success or set-backs. A winner remains focused on the job at hand.  They realize that a major part of their strength lies on the aptitude of remaining focused on the destination.

2. Ability to Bounce Back.

The ability to bounce back is called resiliency.  Winners are resilient by nature.  Failures are their launching pads.  Trouble and persecution become their “work out”; they simply become stronger the more they face them.  The Apostle Paul is an excellent example of resilience.

2 Corinthians 4:9 – “I may be crushed, but not despairing, persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed”

The Apostle Paul was able to write two-thirds of the New Testament because of his ability to bounce back.  This ability enabled him to withstand the dangers of the sea, the loneliness of prison, the pain of beatings and the death of being stoned. The resilience in him graced him to be a winner.

Be encouraged today, you are a WINNER! Share with me some of your winning stories…

Pastor, thank you for your encouraging words that remind us that we are Conquerors. These are points that I must meditate and apply to my life. No matter was obstacle, set-back, challenge or situation I will stay focus and bounce back.

A winning story for me is that I am still here hungry for more of God, Even when I have wanted to give up I have not.

thank you pastor for sharing this sir. despite my situation i have found strength and peace in God. after my first situation i learned to hold on to God with all at i have because He s all that i have and need. Now after my last loss i have learned to be still and know that He is my God and He has a big purpose for my life and for my family and He has been molding me from my birth.
out of the 2 things im confident that the second one im good at, Im slowly working on the first one.

I am a winner because God has blessed me with another and day I am beginning to truly understand the power of God’s word and speaking his plans into existence. I have won in so many areas in my life even though it has not been easy and I thank God that through Christ I have found strength and love when I don’t even deserve it.

Everyday is a win for me. Everytime I move forward and keep pressing is a win. It’s like you said Pastor, we were all winners from inception. I’m thankful that God placed people into my life to open my eyes. God is with us always but we need to open our eyes to that fact.

We got to face the problems face on. Nothing is impossible we just have to believe we have the victory and work to get to the goal. I know that when I put my mind in something I win all the time. Always, learning is the key for success.

Pastor this is an easy post to answer for a change (just kidding). I am a winner because God, the God who made the heaven and the earth and everything we know loves me. Because he has my name in the book of life. Because I am Plan A!!! And even though I dont deserve it, he has give me the joy of a beautiful family, wonderful kids and a great church!!! What else can I ask for!!!
