Building Community
We’re on a mission to build COMMON-UNITY in our church this year. It’s Biblically obvious that the message of the kingdom is more successfully communicated is through community. And community is only achieved when households come together.
All throughout the New Testament, numerous examples are given of salvation coming not to individuals but to households. The promise is that if the Message is received by an individual, the household follows! How exciting is that! In other words, when an individual receives Christ, the chances of their family coming to Christ has increased exponentially! Now that’s very good news for many people I know!
This morning I’ll be teaching on how to build community. Mark Miler, an author, keynote speaker and executive at Chic-fil-a wrote on the subject of community. I love his practicalities. And when community is achieved in a family, team, business or church, its chances for overall success increase immensely. The essence of unity is community and community in action is synergy!
- Be intentional – Community rarely forms spontaneously.
- Celebrate the little things as well as the big wins.
- Express gratitude and appreciation freely.
- Find ways to serve others.
- Put the needs of the house ahead of your own.
- Be vulnerable.
- Think about activities you can do together with your church family.
- Make building community an ongoing priority – not an afterthought.
- Never stop looking for ways to do life together.
- Be patient – creating genuine Community requires time.
We know that when you live in a community you try to get alone with everybody and sometimes you don’t. put you start by doing small activity around you house and they will see that you are there for them.
I will be apart of helping you Pastor in reaching this community for creating Gods kindom
Thank you God for your mercy and grace that we are able to realize how important Community is and that we are grabbing hold of it. Looking forward to what God will continue to do at Impact Church.
