Worry v/s Meditate

The only way we grow in our relationship with Christ is through prayer and meditating on His Word. And the only way we’ll know how to pray is by creating a daily habit of feeding on the Word. I’ve come to the conclusion that a believer who doesn’t read and study the Bible doesn’t really know what he believes in.

Meditating on the Word of God is fundamental and critical to our relationship with God.   Meditating on the Word of God will cause you to think as He thinks and will cause you to do as He does. His Word will become part of your character and culture. It’s essential. It’s vital. It’s critical.

How do we meditate? Well, if you know how to worry you’ll know how to meditate. Worrying is taking negative thoughts and focusing on them until they overwhelm your thinking – you begin to act and react according to them.  Meditating on God’s Word works the same way. We study His Word; we read it, hear it, sing it, memorize it and apply it to our lives. It becomes part of who we are – it’s our compass. We make all decisions based on it.

Meditate on His Word, it’ll change your life, I guarantee it!

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” – Joshua 1:8

“I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.” – Psalms 1:2

This is so true and yet so easy to forget or neglect. Just like our physical bodies require natural food for survival and healthy living, our spiritual being requires proper feeding in order to remain healthy. Whenever I do an audit of the times when I felt defeated, sure enough I was spiritually malnourished.
