SEEKING, SEARCHING, INQUIRING

It appears that anything and everything that is of any value in the Kingdom of God has to be sought after.  God has a technique of NOT placing anything on our laps.  There has to be a pursuit.  That is why He told us to ask, seek and knock after the keys of the Kingdom. The treasures of His Kingdom must be searched out and pursued.  I’m not sure why this is other than He knows that we will appreciate the things we seek and pursue after than the things we attain with ease.

Yesterday, We had Bishop Isaac Wawire from Kenya speak at our church.  Although I was not there, due to my injured back, I was told he preached a sermon with strong prophetic implications to our church as a whole.  What we need to understand here is this…we are people who are desperately looking for answers and we are at a time in our church where some keen direction would be greatly appreciated.   But, as always, what we need is usually in His Word.  It would greatly behoove us to retrieve what was communicated and begin to break it down.  The Lord was speaking through a man, as He usually does.  And it’s up to us to search out that truth and pull out the provision that accompanies it.

I woke up this morning thinking of Isaiah 45:3, “I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.” And also with Luke 11:9 – “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Let us not become weary and somnolent at searching and seeking out the great things He has already provided for us. Rejoice, for when we lay hold of them, great purpose will be achieved!

p.s. – Pray for me as this time of recovery has been longer then usual.

Anxious to read your thoughts,

Pastor Manny

That was a powerful message preached yesterday at church. As I am going over that Word spoken yesterday and the last couple of messages preached to MHC, I am realizing that if there is no true pursuit for His presence and direction, you will be in pretty bad shape
during this season. I am continuing to believe that you have an instant recovery to your back injury in the name of Jesus!

It was very weird not to see you in church yesterday. God is a God of the impossible, a God of miracles. We just need to believe and activate our faith.

  3. Judith Cherette on June 21, 2010 at 8:42 PM

Without a true passion for change, desire for answers in our hearts, and a demand placed on our spirit, the tenacity and willpower to search for those answers will be absent. The desire has to come from deep within. Feel better soon Pastor, we miss you

You can’t do anything if God is not in it. It’s been about reflection for me. I need him.
We are praying for you Pastor.

  5. Joselyn on June 21, 2010 at 11:27 PM

One of the things that Pastor Isaac said yesterday was that God wants to do a new thing… I would add to that that God wants to do a new thing in us and through us!!!..and we need to know what He wants to do..like you just wrote all we need is in God’s word!!we must read it, digest it and act on it! We must know who God is!!So we can really worship Him and serve him with our lives.

We are praying that you recover fast Pastor!

  6. Manny on June 21, 2010 at 11:36 PM

It was a great word yesterday Pastor. We must continue to go forward to the next level. Hope you feeling better.

  7. Jalina on June 21, 2010 at 11:45 PM

Pastor, God really spoke to us yesterday through Bishop Isaac Wawire. All that keeps going through my mind is what you have been speaking to us about these past weeks “Divine Order”. It all interwines with having faith to walk on water, making the necessary changes and in order for all to come to past is having a relationship with Christ. Ask, Seek and Knock this region needs MHC.

  8. Jalina on June 21, 2010 at 11:47 PM

Pastor am praying for your speedy recovery. We are not use to seeing not doing.

  9. mari on June 22, 2010 at 1:13 AM

Although I was with the kids, I heard an awesome report on the word given. Im excited to hear the message for myself. Believing the report of the Lord for your healing, not the same without you there. God is faithful!!!

For the most part like 99.9% of the time nothing is just handed to us or just placed in our lap. If we want money we work, we want food we go shopping for it or use the money we worked for to have someone else prepare it for us in a restaurant, clothes we shop, lose weight, we exercise and change our eating habits. So goes Christ in our lives if we truly want Him to have a relevant and prominent place in our life then we Must pursue Him daily and fervently. God doesn’t just put everything in order and life becomes a bed of roses because we get saved. NO we must pursue with great passion and desire.

We’ve been praying for your quick recovery and healing and we will continue to do so until it comes to pass.

In the past 2 1/2 weeks I’ve been asking, seeking and knocking and it’s been extremely refreshing. It sounds like a lot to do and can seem like something that would be exhausting, especially when you don’t get what you want right away. Although I haven’t found what I’m seeking, had the door I’ve been knocking on opened or had my question or request answered right away… I have peace in knowing that God knows what He’s doing and my life is in His hands and He will reveal things to me in His time knowing exactly what I need and when I need it.

  12. @ldo on June 22, 2010 at 9:33 AM

A timely word indeed. I believe we are about to break into something new, it’s just a matter of prayer, of seeking, believing God can make a miracle and defy the impossible.

  13. Jahazyel Martin on June 22, 2010 at 9:56 AM

I will be praying for you. Be nice to your wife and kids during your pain:) When we go after something and seek after it we appreciate it more. For example if we are promoted just because our dad is the owner then we don’t appreciate our job. If we have to work hard and sweat and overcome adversity and we recieve a promotion then we are greatful. God has given us the keys. Lets find the door and unlock it.

  14. Philip on June 22, 2010 at 9:57 AM

Yes we all seek for answers many times in the wrong place. Those are very encouraging scriptures much needed as we all need encouragemen. Sundays sermon was great and on time.

  15. Simone on June 22, 2010 at 10:38 AM

Most of the things that i’ve had to work for or go after are the things that have been valued the most. I am at the point where I spend much time seeking, knocking and asking, and as a result, learning.
This is a critical time in our church and in my life, and my aim is to get all that I can from it and not walk away having missed it.

Bishop Isaac Wawire delivered a powerful word, sorry you weren’t able to be there. I am praying for you, I know what it’s like to be in bed with an injured back…it’s no fun 🙁

  16. Andrea on June 22, 2010 at 11:21 AM

The message was good food for the house. You were missed Pastor, God’s speed to your recovery. I have been in pursuit of my destiny lately and I’ve been reminded about no personal destiny without a corporate one so my heart and prayers have been towards the destiny of MHC. We must stay in pursuit of God first in our lives.

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.” Proverbs 25:2
Part of Gods glory is His omniscient nature. He knows all thing. Our responsibility is to search out what God has hidden for us. This is the way he has chosen to operate. I believe this is all part of devine order. We must search! This is our glory!

  18. Ashley E on June 22, 2010 at 11:45 AM

Ditto… Jenny. As hard as it’s been to get my lazy self back in routine. My life is so much easier with Jesus in charge. I get way to stressed trying to do i on my own.

  19. DMc on June 22, 2010 at 11:54 AM

Pursuit…what good is it to pursue half way then turn back? At the Go conference I think it was Mark Batterson that said “don’t think big, think long”. I held on to that because it sounds like the key to finishing this race we’ve started, and finishing strong. A lifetime could be a long time.

  20. Junio on June 22, 2010 at 12:01 PM

It was a very strong message and I see again God is working on our hearts. What’s being communicated from the pulpit is very strong as well as convicting. God is working inside of my heart to seek out His presence and increase my pursuit for His presence with the purpose of letting God work within my heart.

  21. Shaka on June 22, 2010 at 12:26 PM

    Praying for your healing Pastor.

Great word! Recently I have been seeking and knocking. Not sure what to ask for except for his will be done in my life. Bishop Isaac had a good word yesterday, when there is fear we need God; we are victorious even before we go through any afflictions. We know that, but sometimes good to hear it when you need it most.

  22. Keller on June 22, 2010 at 6:56 PM

We have no option but keep moving forward. Where would we go??

  23. gjstfhill on June 23, 2010 at 1:19 AM

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:44. MHC, we must consider ourselves honored as He first sought after us. God did His part. Therefore, we too must do our part to complete His will,. Consequently, we must continuously pursue Him and His Kingdom with fervor, passion and tenacity.

  24. mario caceres on June 23, 2010 at 8:35 AM

I think that all the treasures are store for us and is a revelation, a constant pursue of God’s presence and Word that will reveal us the treasures. And personally I love learning something new in the Bible, whenever I learn or discover something new I get very excited. Since I started reading my Bible God always has something new everyday and thats the manna that we most look and seek after.

  25. Melissa on June 23, 2010 at 9:02 AM

I’ve found my self here more lately seeking like never before – I’m very much at peace even when things don’t happen or go wrong but because of my seeking and my push I can see and understand that He is in control and I just trust in Him – regardless what happens in my life He is still God and I just need to focus on Him and Him alone! we are walking with Him, He is the one guiding us and seeing us through it!

  26. benjamin medina on June 23, 2010 at 10:29 AM

My first time posting something on your blog paster manny, if your an intern you have to post something on your blog, i’m a intern therefore i am posting something on your blog. About what you put it is very true. To get what we want we need to search for it. Things wont just come at you for force, you must work for it. So you have to look then seek.

  27. Enio on June 23, 2010 at 10:47 AM

I agree that God requires us to seek, search, and knock so we appreciate the blessings that we are given.

  28. GLENNA on June 23, 2010 at 5:24 PM

We must never stop asking, seeking (pursuing) and knocking, but I believe there are some prerequisites to finding. In I Chronicles 28:9 God told Solomon…”And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father and serve Him with WHOLEHEARTED DEVOTION and with a WILLING MIND, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you…” In the previous verse, he was told to “be careful to follow ALL the commands of the Lord your God…”, if we follow these instructions, we will be sure to find HIM….part of bringing divine order to our lives!!

Sunday morning bishop Isaac preached a prophetic word for our church, God is speaking to our church and give us direction. are we willing to listen and obey? there is not time to waste God is preparing us for something big. let’s be faithful in the small.

  30. Stephen on June 24, 2010 at 9:21 AM

Sunday was very powerful. I enjoyed every bit of Bishop Isaacs’s message. Weird not seeing you at church though. I will continue to seek after His Word and learn more and more. Praying for you sir to get well soon.

  31. zayne on June 24, 2010 at 4:41 PM

This is a great blog. I like it when it talks about when we are seeking answers when the answers are in God’s Word and thats why I like this blog.

  32. Cindy Shappy on June 26, 2010 at 10:23 AM

When Bishop Issac Wawire was here last his prophetic word was SOUGHT AFTER. In order
to bring this word to LIFE, we would have to be forceful in PRAYER and look deeper into
GOD’S WORD. In his sermon, June 20th, His WORD is The TIME IS NOW: STEPPING INTO
THE IMPOSSIBLE. Don’t let our fear get in the way: Do something: Move with Faith and the
boundaries of evil are destroyed by JESUS.

  33. Brandon Lee on June 28, 2010 at 11:56 PM

I have recently found myself not seeking as much as I should. I have started to care less and less about what is going on. I am trying to refocus myself now. It is difficult here. I am torn between 2 places that I feel I need to be. And the only way I can find that place that I am truly meant to be is to seek. I just need some prayer now. So keep me in your prayers please, and my family. It’s hard right now.

It is impossible to really take a word spoken and apply it unless we ponder on it. Take time to initiate provoking thoughts to solidify what was spoken. Then make the neccessary adjustments to properly emerce ourselves in the word and make it part of our lives for good..

  35. Andy on July 8, 2010 at 10:09 AM

I believe that most of the time God is waiting on us. If we don’t seek and we live our lives telling ourselves that we are waiting on God when in actuality God is waiting on us, the question to ourselves should be….I’m i seeking like I should have I exsated all efforts to find out what it is that God whats me to do. At my job we have something we have to say to a customer that has a question and you do not have the answer to it. “I don’t know the answer to that but lets find out together” I ask my self now what does God what me to do next, I don’t know the answer to that but let me find out.
