Accountability

Today I embark on a new direction in the training of my leadership.  I’m teaching and modeling the principle of accountability – bringing it to a greater dimension.

I believe that both, leaders and followers, without accountability, will eventually come to ruin.  We are incapable of doing what God has called us to do by ourselves. We need people who can challenge us, hold us accountable, and protect us from the enemy, other people and mostly from ourselves.

The most vulnerable areas of our lives are our blind spots. We all have them. They are the things that God knows about us; the things that other people know about us but the things that we are totally blind to.  These are usually the areas where we don’t give anyone permission to speak into our lives.  These are the things that,  unfortunately, we believe we can handle on our own.

I’m convinced that every pastor needs a pastorevery leader needs a leader…  WE NEED EACH OTHER – We all need accountability!

Accountability is not a permission getting thing… it’s a protection thing.

Is our responsibility to manage the relationships that we have. We most be accountable to people and also be hold accountable, so that we don’t mess up. We are our brother’s keeper.

Yes, we all need someone in our lives that can protect our blind spots. I am thankful for the people that have that permission to speak into my life which have helped me get this far.

The reason I think we need accountability Is because we need someone in our lives that has permission to speak Into my life and help me fulfill my purpose and destiny In life.

Its not an easy thing, but its the right one. Medicine doesnt taste good, but its good for you. Exercise can be a pain, but the benefits outway the uncomfortable feeling you have in the begining. The same with accountability, at first it may feel uncomfortable, but as time goes on you actually start to look forward to it.

A definite truth Pastor. If we don’t have someone who can watch or for us eventually we will slip. All of us are vulnerable.

My flesh was enraged and my spirit was rejoicing when this change in leadership was announced. This is the best thing that could happen. There is going to be a lot of resistance as a result but it will be worth it to be accountable and not hide anything. It is through accountability that we will be able to see the blind spots that we never knew existed and maximize our effectiveness as a team.
