Odds Are Against Them…

I’ve been in Lima, Peru for about four days, I have some thoughts to share…

Church planting is a very misunderstood venture.  It’s more complicated than starting a business.  It’s more than just having meetings and gatherings.  It’s more than just singing and preaching.  It’s way more…

Without getting into a long dissertation on the requirements of church planting, I’ll just say this… Church planting is a selfless, self-sacrificing call from God that requires a total buy-in and life investment.  Succeeding in a church plant involves 100% God and 100% man.  I know those numbers don’t add up, but without God’s direction and instructions coupled with a no-quit determination to follow those instructions, failure is imminent.

That is why I am so proud of Pastors Laz and Janet Perez.  They are paying the price.  They are doing what it takes to succeed.  They pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on them.  Although the odds are against them, they are pushing forward.  And they are doing this in another country; in a city that eats church planters alive! Get ready Lima, Peru – here they come!

I know God is going to do something incredible in their ministry, because I know pastor Laz and Jannet and I know God has called them for such a time like this to do a great work in Peru.

Awesome, it must be great to be able to share in this time with them. They are truly a real example of a Faithful, Obedient Family. May God continue to use them in Peru.
