The Economy of Honor
Honor creates an atmosphere of exchange. The concept of economy doesn’t just apply only to the natural world but the supernatural world as well. As a matter of fact, I believe that the natural economy is affected by the spiritual economy, not just in the world markets but in individuals as well.
Honor affects both realms. The principle is this: “whatever we respect we attract. And whatever we disrespect we repel.” If we offer respect to finances then we’ll attract finances. If we respect relationships, we’ll have friends. If we disrespect people, we dispel them. If we respect health, we’ll have healthy bodies… I believe you get the picture.
So, here’s my take. Respect is only a form of honor. If we honor, we respect, but respect is not necessarily to honor. Honor is deeper. Honor is greater; it comes from the heart. It’s possible to respect with our actions and words and yet dishonor in with our hearts. Therefore, it’s vital that our respect (which attracts) comes from a heart of honor. For when it does, it creates a vibrant economy of exchange in our lives.
If respects attracts than honor keeps! It’s possible to attract resources but never keep them. So, if respect attracts then the attitude of honor will bring us to a spiritual and natural economy of continual exchange – from our heart to God’s heart…From God’s hands to our hands, and from our hands to God’s kingdom. (Pro. 3:9-10)
Although honor and glory are synonymous in meaning, they are used distinctively in scripture. My take is this…HONOR comes from us and GLORY comes from God. When we give God honor, He in return gives us His Glory. And it’s in the Glory of God that all provision exists. It’s the economy of honor.
Just wanted to thank you for your obedience in teaching us more about Honor. All of us have lost a sense of Honor and It is time for us to take it back. I believe that when we change our perspective of Honor many things will change in our life, families, churches, community, region, etc. Let’s built the culture of Honor again. I love you Pastor keep teaching us.
hey pastor do you remember me well thats not the point i want to say i miss you and your family i hope to see you guys next week or the following week if you want to talk to me by cellular please call me at 786-663-6198.
I am so glad you are doing this series on Honor. Each time I hear
you speak or read your blog, I get such a great respect for what
you are instilling in to my mind and heart. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!
In your teachings this has really hit hard because I always had the mindset that when you Respect you are Honoring. Thank you for the teaching on this, only because I respect does not mean that I honor. May God bring conviction to me to have a Heart of Honor for not only HIM but for others that are leading me, leading with me and that I am leading. Good blog.
When we start showing honor to God his glory would become among us.
We know that the economy is not doing so good. but we need to keep on moving because we have a big God and I know that he will keep us safe. so we have honor the one that gave us life.
Pastor I appreciate the message series on honorology. I am beginning to dissect the different areas of my life and see all the areas that I am operating in dishonor. I know there is glory at the end. God is just waiting on us to get it together. “Ill gotten treasures are of no value, but righteousness delivers from death.” Proverbs 10:2
Honor and glory is simple a principle of cause and effect. When we honor, God will manifest his glory
