COVENANT…
Yesterday was my third message on the message series, Covenant. It appears that the more I study this subject matter the more I am blown away by God’s actions and intension for us. His love for us is truly unfathomable!
Simply put, He gave to us “choice” and we choose to separate ourselves from Him. So, for 4,000 years, He set up and taught us the processes of covenants in order to bring us back to Him. And He topped it all off when He made the final and lasting covenant with us – JESUS!
There is so much truth to be discovered and explained from the symbolism and types in the Word of God concerning covenant. I really wish I could go over all of it with a fine-toothed comb; but I guess I’ll leave that up to you to personally research it – it’ll stay with you longer… 🙂
I pray that in this message series, we, as a church, will grab hold of an understanding of God’s love toward us. And, in that love, will come forth a well-digested and metabolized understanding of terms like “fear of God, commitment, faithfulness, conviction and faith. All these are necessary in order for us to keep our terms of The Covenant. I will continue on Wednesday night @7:30pm! See you there!
Anxious to read your thoughts,
Pastor Manny
This message series on covenant has me really excited. I am seeing covenant from a different perspective as it potrayed by various scriptures in the Bible. Yesterday’s teaching on the Abrahamic Covenant was very cool. The illustration on how covenant was struck blew me away. I am looking forward to coming teachings on Covenant. Good stuff.
This new message series is opening up the meaning of covenant to me in a whole new way. I now see the Adamic and Abrahamic covenants in a whole new way and am excited to learn more of God’s covenant with us!
I understood this week that God does things in ways that we can’t understand, and because we don’t understand sometimes we judged it. When a person makes a true commitment to Know God, I know that God will show himself to anyone who seeks Him, no matter how the person’s belief systems are. Because God waits for us to start the covenant and when we start it God is faithful to accomplish and fulfill the covenant. God is faithful and I know now that all it takes for us to know God more is just to have the desire to try, full heart it because God is faithful and He will always answer back to anyone who wants Him.
Thank you for taking the time to teach us the word of God and directing us in the right direction as a church. I really enjoy the studies, and learning something new every Sunday and on Wed. Cant wait to learn more.
I was in Children’s Church but really looking forward to hear yesterday’s message. I know God is doing a New in this church.
I was there and it was powerful and we should keep going forward and I know that when you have a family that they are there for you and they won’t let you down. we know that when you come in you will never go back to your old life.
Everything that happened in history is result of God’s covenant with us (humans) and our ability to respond to those covenants by keeping or breaking them. Now our eternal life depend on it, so this is a vital teaching… Let’s apply what we learning and become what God intent us to be: sons.
Pastor, with every sermon and teaching you are guiding me in the right
direction of knowledge, commitment and a deeper relation with my
HEAVENLY FATHER. I cherish my covenant with GOD and Miami
Harvest Church and am willing to make what sacrifices are needed
for this privledge.
I am looking forward to tomorrow’s family night. It is alot to digest, but it’s good.
I meant the new things you’ve been teaching on, not family night.
I am anxious to hear your sermon on covenant. All throughout the bible God shows his love for us through covenant. My prayer is that I may not take God’s covenant lightly and I will truly cherish God and the covenant that we share and how he gave the ultimate sacrifice for me.
It’s when we give Him a part of us and something or someone tiring to destroy what we have giving up.When the enemy telling you it’s not worth it or what’s the point of all the change ! And then you’re grateful of the people that’s there praying for you motivating you to go on. That’s when you appreciate the covenant of the church and GOD.
Covenant is key, and I am learning that more and more each day; it has been that very thing that has kept me going and in my place through the easy times and the tough times. Looking forward to learning more on covenant tonight.
Covenant means a great deal to me, so I’m thoroughly enjoying this sermon series and I’m looking forward to hearing and learning more about the other ‘covenants’.
This has been an awesom teaching so far. We are being blessed by what God is doing through you and in our Church and I feel that this teaching is going to be a cornerstone of MHCs renewed foundation.
I too look foward to reviewing the nuggets of wisdom that God has imparted to you on this topic. At the same time, the moment I hear the word covenant, my mind almost immediately takes me to the book of Deuteronomy ch 8, where in vs 1 and 2 it states, ‘all these commandments which I command thee this day, observe to do, that you may live…..
Covenant to me is staying under Gods umbrella of protection.
