Hindsight – The Compass to Our Future

It’s been researched that 99% of life’s experiences withdraw into our subconscious, but only 1% makes it into our conscious memory.  And it’s in those very moments that we define ourselves.  These moments are laced with impact and defining in nature. These memories could be positive or negative, happy or sad; it’s in the memory of these moments that we are who we are today.

Hindsight is a very powerful tool for those who desire to move forward.  Looking back is only wrong if you bury yourself in regret.  But sanctified hindsight allows us to identify and meditate on our past processes.  When we look back we can realize that every occurrence was a preparation for future opportunities.  They become the compass to our future.

It’s time that we learn to redeem our past.  Our past is redeemed when we are able to view it through God’s eyes. And when we properly look back, we should be able to see God’s fingerprints regardless of the pain and agony of those moments.  Our key to connecting to our destiny is not in front of us, rather in our redeemed memories.

Let’s look deeper than the 1% of what we recall.   Let’s look further into the moments and events we’ve experienced along with the lessons taught to us.  When we learn to leverage them, it’ll expand our capacity so we can properly steward what God has ordained and purposed for our future!

Please share your thoughts on how you redeem your memories…

I believe that as my faith continues to grow and I get older I am learning to embrace everything with a different attitude. I am able to look back in my past and acknowledge that God has always been there. I am able to see what process I had to take to learn an important lesson. As I continue to move forward I pray that I continue to redeem my memories.

I think that when you look back at your past we need to improve ourselves so we can make better choices and we won’t fall and make the same mistakes. thats why its okay to look at the past but don’t let it get you down.

Sometimes is super hard for me, i always ask God for focus in my life, we got so distracted in worldly thing that is not even funny… too much drama, meaningless conversation. empty opinion and the worse that we collect certain information that we even know that we kept. And that is a virus thing that we allow to lured us to miss the mark. We have to keep a sober mind, and be strong in the storm because Jesus is with us and God is leading us while the Holy Spirit is comforting us throughout this daily living. Thank you pastor

It is so important to look back at our past as stepping stones whether it is a good memory or a bad one. When we look back at the negative times we can always find that there were lessons learned in that experience. This lesson can lead to growth especially if you acknowledge that your behavior was your own hindrance. For me is the realization that accessing past memories can help me see areas of error that I do not want to repeat. Great blog Pastor. Thanks for reminding us to access the past to shine a iight on our future

When I reflect about my past and the opportunities that I had to walk away from the path that God had for me. I thanks Him. I know that if it wasn’t for the leading of the Holy Spirit, I’ll be doing exactly or worse than my friends from high school were doing. I don’t thanks God enough but He has kept me for a reason and whenever I face trials and temptation I have to always remember what God has already done for me.
