NYC Bound…

I’m spending five days in New York City with two women.  I know, that’s a strange opening sentence for a blog.  The two women are my wife and daughter.  We are about to board a plane to the Big Apple to see Calysta Blaise perform in her showcase dances.  At the end of the week we get the privilege of bringing her home with us for one week.

One of the hardest things I had to do as a parent, was leaving her in such a big city.  But I know this is where she belongs and this is where God is molding, shaping and using her.  As believers we are NEVER exempt from painful decisions and difficult times.  It’s only through them that God can form us into the people He wants us to be.

I’m just very thankful for the short time of respite we’ll have with her.  It’s funny how we realize how much we value something or someone until they’re absent from our lives.

Have fun in New York. I understand just how you feel every time I get to visit my family. May we not take the relationships that God has blessed us with us or granted and may we know that we were blessed.

Pastor, when I think about your relationship with your family I get
all choked up with loving thoughts as to how lucky they are to have
you and Pastora Victoria for their parents. I know there is no such
thing as luck: you have worked so hard to train them in the way of
our Lord. Your sermon yesterday was so special and I hope all that
hear it take it to heart. Enjoy N Y City. I am so thrilled for
Calysta’s being able to perform in her showcase dance and that you are there to see her! ENJOY!! Miss you and love you all!

That happens with everything we recognize and acknowledge the importance of something or someone when they are not with you.
