Point of Remembrance

I love the creativity that comes from our team.  In yesterday’s blog, I mentioned we used ropes for a prophetic illustration regarding renewed strength and being tied to Christ and  the vision of the house.  It really was a powerful and prophetic time in the Lord.

And to bring to remembrance what the Lord demonstrated to us, Jenny Olivardia (one of my staff members) made for herself a simple rope bracelet.  She was sporting it the following day when I noticed it.  I thought it was a very creative way to remember what God said to us.

Throughout the Old Testament, Israel practiced this.  They built altar, pillars and monuments in the places where God either did or said something to them. These were physical and tangible points of remembrance.  We all need as much help as possible to remember the things that God did in our lives and the words He spoke to us. These memories are holy, and by remembering them, we keep our focus and stay the course we’ve been called to.

Nevertheless, I so liked the idea of using the rope we used as a bracelet, that I asked her to make me a few of them…. They go well with the IMPACT INITIATIVE bracelet we gave at the beginning of the year!

If any of you still have your rope and want a bracelet, let us know… 🙂

That rope bracelet was an amazing anchor for remembering how our
    lives are tied to christ.
In my living room I have a painting of the ocean. At the top is an open funnel in the clouds. When I look at it: I see the Heavens open-
ing up. I know God is watching over all of us at IMPACT Church. God
knows our vision. He is here to guide us. Our vision is being fulfilled.

Wow that is very creative. You go Jenny. It does help to have something to bring remembrance to. I still have my nail from our Encounters.

That was very cool what she did so we can remember when we spoke to God and we can show people that the Lord is real,

I twisted mine into almost a braid. It is a reminder of covenant, something that we individually took in and tied ourselves to as a group/unit.

Awesome idea….. A great way of encouragement and a perfect way of remembrance of our LOVE for Jesus. I will call it “The Engagement Ring”; A symbol that reminds us who we belong to, our promise and commitment to him, and the love we have for him. The rope and knots symbolizes the arms and hands of Jesus as they wrap around us. Awesome, I Love It……The Engagement Ring >>> Slogan: “To Jesus We Belong”. LOL 🙂

That’s a great idea to remember. A lot of times we need a physical thing to remind us of what God already did for us. Because we forget very quickly and we act out of feelings and not by faith. When I think about it we just need to remember what God already done for us, and then we know that God’s promises will always be fulfilled.

      Excellent… Love it Mario…

Great idea! We can look at the bracelet everyday and remember that we are tied to our Creator and the vision of the house. Prior to being saved I was tied to everything else instead of God. Now I’m tied to God and the vision of this house and I feel a joy and a peace that comes from my anchor with God. The strength I receive everyday is due to my willingness and desire to serve our Lord.

I know and believe in my spirit that God is doing something in each and every member of Impact Church. Our responsibility is to remain focused on what we are doing everyday to increase our spirit man, our faith and our hope. That is my prayer for my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Love the example Elisa…. Now you are tied to Christ! Believing God to do the same in our church!

Wow. I like it. Those creative GEMS. I think I will make a head band. May we remember God and share with others that did not go so they can remember also

    • Manny Rivera on July 31, 2011 at 1:50 PM

      Yes… they are creative.

My purpose for having made the bracelet was exactly that. To constantly remind myself that I am tied to this vision. I put my bracelet on this morning and immediately thought of the blogs. It’s amazing how distracting we let our simple lives get that we forget the small things which ultimately can effect the big picture. So here I am. Thanks to my bracelet that reminded me to keep focused.

Horray for the bracelet of remembrance!

The following statement is so true, “People remember what they should forget and forget what we should remember.” Remembering what God has said or done in our lives many times becomes fogy in the mist of our everyday lives. We tend to focus our attention, time and energy on things that are of no kingdom purpose. I love the bracelets! I love the encounter nails! I love the tithing rock! They have helped me remember what I should remember and forget what I should forget.

      Anything to help us remember…

  16. Andrea on July 31, 2011 at 10:29 PM

    Love it…..

I think it’s also a great conversation piece. When someone asks what it is, what an awesome opportunity to witness to them about the goodness of the Lord and tell them about what God is doing at Impact Church.
I’m planning on bring my rope for Jenny to make bracelets for my husband and I – and Cesare Jr too 🙂

It’s great to have an alter that you can carry around, How it’s helpful of remembrance of the promise you made to HIM (GOD) it’s easy to remember what people tell you, but it hard to recalled what you tell HIM. Living out you’re promise you made with HIM to keep faithful (great gift ) How would HE bless you that you’re cup will over flow .

    • Manny Rivera on August 1, 2011 at 1:57 PM

I love that!! Carrying an altar with us!!! Good Word Toshiba!!
