Prayer and Familiarity

Embracing a new direction and establishing a new culture is never easy. We all love the familiar. As much as we hate to admit it, we enjoy familiarity and the informality of our surroundings.  This is true in the natural and most certainly in the spiritual.

We at IMPACT CHURCH have come to a sober conclusion in our efforts of ministry to our region.  We’ve realized that if we are going to accomplish what God has placed in our hearts, there must be a greater understanding of prayer. And it’s impossible to realize true prayer and intercession without breaking away from familiarity.

Prayer forces you to make changes.  Prayer clears the air and creates an environment of change.  The will of God will never take us to a place of comfort, rather to a place of uncertainty. It is impossible to have a quiet existence and safe goals with a genuine understanding of prayer and the will of God in our lives.

It is because of our fallen state that familiarity is natural and instinctive to us – prayer is not. Therefore, we must make a conscious effort to build an ever-increasing discipline of prayer.  For it’s the only way we will escape from the power-draining clutches of familiarity.

Prayer is the key to all…

We need to pray and don’t let the world get in your way because when you get Familar with something it will take you out of his present.we need to stay focus and everything will be alright.

Amen. Familiarity can lead to apathy and apathy leads to death.

I must admit Prayer is one area in which I am constantly trying to stay focus and discipline in. I must continue to allow God to lead me from my comfort zone.

The fight I continually fight in my prayer life is familiarity. I never want to get familiar with prayer, but continue to learn more of who God is through it.

Living God’s will has to be Excited and an adventure. The cool thing is that although we feel like is a road of uncertainty, still God has everything under control. And he is just testing us, to see if we would choose God, and choose to live a life of adventure.

I know that I need to pray more. I pray that all of us at impact church get convicted, and make a change. God has already established his purpose. He is just waiting on us to connect and pray it through.
