RED SEA MOMENTS
I think all of us have had “Red Sea” moments. A “Red Sea” moment is when you have your back against a seeming devastation yet facing an aggressive force that desires to bring damage to you. After reading the story of the Israelites and Moses in their exodus from Egypt, I realized something…God let them there. That’s right… Did God make a mistake or did God have a purpose behind the crisis?
He obviously had a plan. But it’s in the process of that plan that He does His greatest work in us. The Israelites let Moses know that he and God made a big mistake. It’s funny that when we are facing our “Red Sea” moments how critics will come out of the woodwork or how our very own thoughts begin to doubt the deliverance power of God! We become our own Israelites!
The truth is that God will always lead us to a place where we have nowhere to go but to Him. And honestly, during these times, it’s often the last place our flesh desires to be. We all want miracles but we never desire to be at a place that will necessitate a miracle. It takes “Red Sea” moments in order for that to happen.
I’m in the middle of one of those now… but I know the Lord will do what He does best… He will work it out if I allow Him to work in me.
Pastor Manny
Yea! I know the feeling I’ve been there for a few month, and it seem as everyone output is: it’s because of all the wrong I‘ve done. I really want anything to happen at lest I see some deferent’s in the situation. I’ve been taking you’re teaching seriously and the emotions behind them as so the things you share with us! I’m tiring not to live or react on emotion but to keep GOD’S words the little that I know to stand in them.
Wow, being processed and believing the Word of God. I will not grow weary but allow God to work it out. I will stand strong.
Good Word pastor. Those moments are the difference between us and the other religions. We know that God will go through at the end, and all He wants for us is to just depend on Him, thats all. When we understand that through Him we can do all things, we won’t be so worry about everything.
This is a place where I know I have been a couple times before in my life. I am always trying to figure out how to solve a situation by my means only. In these “Red Sea” moments however, my pride gets shattered and I finally accept the fact that apart from Christ I can’t go through this situation. It’s when I realize that God is always with me and no situation is too great for Him that I stop worrying, keep pressing forward, and let God be God.
Amen. God deserves all the honor, glory and praise. When we are in those situations it is up to us to let God be God and walk in faith so we may come out victorious. There is nothing impossible for Him. Glory to God!
When it comes to those Red Sea moments in life, my mind pulls from the stories in history, like in the book of Job.
Even though the bible states that he was a ‘perfect and upright man’…’who feared God’, he too experienced a Red sea moment.
His first responce to his situation has spoken volumes to me; since in chapter 1 vs 20 it states that he,’…fell upon the ground and worshiped.’ Now I am not even suggesting that this is an easy thing to do, but it is an excellent example for us as Christians to model and work out in out lives. I will be continually paying for God to work through the lives of the prople of M.H.C.
P.S. It’s like that Old hymm states, ‘ God will take care of you, through every way, Oh all the day; he will take care of you!!!, GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF Y.O.U !!’

I am there right now too…not fun.
How can we ever know God as deliverer if we dont ever need to be delivered, or provider if we dont need provision etc. Its in those red sea moments that we get to know the mighty hand of God, and our own character too, do we truly trust God? I know that im thankful God has put me in a place where the truth of Gods word is taught, so that when I face my red sea moment I can recall the word, and remember that its necessary to go through the red sea,in order to get to the other side. Not by my might, but by His Hand.
Well Pastor that is a good one we need to be like moses because we need to get to the next level. so we might have a red sea moment so we can show people that we can can go through anything.
I get it and I think I’m there now. If this is the time and place where God is processing me, then I take it. I’ll do what he wants me to do. It just means that the next step or change is around the corner for me.
That’s right Pastor, allow God to work in you, remain faithful and He’ll make a way where there seems to be no way.
AMEN!!!!!!!!
I second Keller.
Lord, give us composure during our Red Sea moment(s). Your Word is sufficient and your Grace is enough. Lead us into all Truth so that our focus will not shift during the battle. Or focus is this: You and You alone are our source. Amen.
This blog perfectly describes where I am at this time. It’s a place where I can do nothing but let God be God, I do my part and stand knowing that He is control and will do a great thing in my life and through me. It’s gut wrenching but exciting at the same time.
When I read this blog all I could think of is your father’s
faith in GOD as he walked through the airport and got his
passport stamped. For him that was a Red Sea moment and
we all shared in that with him. Thank God for him. How he
showed us what true faith is.
