REMOVING the CLUTTER for PRAYER

I’ve been in the process of moving for about 3 weeks now.  Moving is revelatory. If you have a hearing ear and a seeing eye, the Holy Spirit can teach many object lessons.  I’m currently learning one… Simplicity.

Now, I know that “Simplicity” has now made it to “buzz word” status. There are now conferences, seminars and manuals written on simplicity.  Honestly, I think we are complicating simplicity.

While in the process of moving, my wife and I began to “simplify” by streamlining our belongings.  We also did the same with our church office, assets and equipment.  There’s nothing like good old-fashioned change… letting go of what is not needed anymore.

Our physical change coincides with the direction we’ve taken as a church.  We’ve simplified how we do ministry to such an extent that we now have a greater focus on “majors” and more room for creativity.

One of the “majors” is PRAYER.  We know that IMPACT CHURCH will impact its region through the power of PRAYER ONLY.  And because of our simplification, prayer is not a “minor” but rather a “major.”  You’ll be surprised how many churches have prayer as a side item.  So, by removing the clutter of other stuff, we can engage, wholeheartedly, on what God mandates us to do…discipleship, fellowship, and PRAYER. (Acts 2:42)

Let’s go for it IMPACTers!

We cannot allow prayer to be a side item but a major part of our lives. The teaching on the Power of Prayer last night at Family Night was very powerful and spoke to many us as Bishop Raphael from Kenya ministered the Word of God.

Amen to that. It’s in the simplicity of things that the revelation of God is magnified because that is when we see that we can’t even truly CONTROL the simplest of things. True order comes when we let go of everything else, except the word of God in our lives. In other words dumb it down…do only as our father in heaven directs us. Resist the temptation to be “wise”.

1 Prerequisite: a strong prayer relationship with our Father who art in heaven so that He can be heard and understood.

Pastor, this is very true! I believe once we simplify the clutter in our lives physically and spiritually it allows us to move forward so that we may access bigger & better things! I am super excited that our church has Prayer as a major and that through prayer we will definitely Impact different regions! God Bless 🙂

Prayer is not an option, but should be a natural everyday occurrence in our lives as believers. We need to get rid of all the “extras” that may be getting in the way of the basic things we should be doing as Christians.

All it takes is to SIMPLY pray and believe and mountains will be moved.

Amen. May we all accept the call to pray and may we be like Jesus, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1:35) I think that all of us want to see God move in our community. The question is how bad do we want it. We have to do something we have never done before to see something we have never seen before. Let’s pray and get hungry for God like never before.

We need to clean out what we have and start praying to God and we will see that it will take us to the next level.

That is great. Prayer is so vital, without it we become vulnerable to this world, prayer is a reflection of our devotional time and relationship with God, we must put aside everything and put prayer as first.

When I leave this world, I can not take all my stuff
with me. But the prayers I’ve prayed will!

Right now I’m reading OUT LIVE YOUR LIFE by Max Lucado.
How about this!! One of the legacies I can leave is
all the prayers I have prayed. Isn’t is great: anyone
    can do this.
