SOMETIMES WE NEED TO REBOOT

One of my objectives this summer is making sure our church arrives at a stage of health.  All churches become ill at times.  All churches are attacked one way or another.  After all, a church is not an organization rather an organism.  Its alive and made up of many individual parts where if one hurts, the others hurt along with it.

As stated numerous amounts of times in past blogs, we have been on a mission of change, order, and structure. I’ve never been so desirous of seeing MHC enter in its next stage of influence.  In no way was I ever fond of “having church” for the sake of “doing church.” That’s the last thing Miami needs. But what I’m looking for is a strong, healthy, vibrant church who knows what they’re doing, what they want and where they’re going.  MHC, we are most definitely on our way…

In many ways, we are rebuilding from basics all over again.  And honestly, there is no other way of achieving this.  I feel like I’m replanting our church all over again but this time instead of it being my family and a couple of people, it’s my family and a few hundred people.  Embracing DIVINE ORDER has a way of “rebooting” our lives and bringing us back to default status.

Last night we had a five-hour elders/board meeting and in my opinion, it was one of the most effective meetings we’ve ever had in terms of structure and order. These are definitely exciting times for all MHCers.

I am excited for the change that has already taken place and can’t wait to hear, and experience what is to come.

I a excited to see what God has in store for MHC. It is not by coincidence that God united a body of believers from different backgrounds to impact Miami. May we set order and get ready for one of the most exciting, sometimes bumpy, rides of our lives.

In my Art class when I make a blunder my teacher says there is a reason for
this to happen. Something unusual and better happens: everything happens
    for a purpose and reason.

I feel that is what happened with yesterday’s mishap of the circuit breaker
popping: for it made the Worship Team and members connected with a
gentle touch of closeness as we sang together.

Looking forward to exciting things to come ahead with Miami Harvest Church
being done for the glory of GOD. GREAT RIDE AHEAD!!!!

I am in expectation of all the great things to come as we reboot, recharge, and restructure ourselves as a church and personally. Staying focused in walking in His divine order will propel us into our purpose as a church.

There are many things that I do that I had to rethink how I do them. In the midst of this season of order, I am realizing that there tasks and duties that are performed that need to be revamped. I am not doing things with the same motives as I used to. I have allowed my convictions to get fogged with viruses of comfort and selfishness. I need to go back to those convictions I once had and reboot my system in order for that to happen.

I’m glad the meeting went well. Rebooting is always good, it starts things up.

Well Pastor when something gets stuck or its not working we need to start over or reboot it because you are taking out all of the stuff that you don’t need in your life. so we need to put everything in order so we can be in the right place with God.

As always, I will continue to pray that we take and remain on the path that God has paved for us corporately. I am looking forward to this season of MHC.

Now we are with you and we are planting for a bigger and stronger church. We are the church and if God is with us who can be against us. And God is working on every single one of us.

I feel I am in that lapse of time, in the reboot process, when everything is turned off and all movement cease. But thank God we will soon start moving again…

I like this blog because it talks about how we can’t live are lives doing the same thing over and over again we need to reboot and do something new in are lives sometimes.

  19. Johnny on July 21, 2010 at 9:40 AM

What I love about a system reboot is that only that which is not functioning in proper order is removed or brought back to it purposed function. Sure you need to start somethings over, but at least now its progress will not be impeded as before. I am ready for the change.

I like that…”back to basics” because so many times we get caught up in the “doing” instead of the “being”…yes, i know we say it but do we really mean it?

Here is my life’s goal…. 10[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [[b]which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] 11That if possible I may attain to the [[c]spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body]. 12Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. 13I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. 15So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also. 16Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that. (Hebrews 3:10-16 AMP)

When I talk about rebooting, I think that I have to shut down my computer and restart again. We are resetting things, now it is time to shut down to make sure what is new take place.

  22. Melissa on July 23, 2010 at 9:41 AM

It is exciting!!! Time for order and growth!

I’m glad for the positive change that we’re experiencing and do look forward to what’s yet to come

  24. Benjamin on July 26, 2010 at 9:35 AM

Exciting things happening! We need to be ready, for something does happen. Rebooting something you have to do when you have a PC, I know that for sure because I own one, although I’m not proud of it… 🙁

  25. victor Williams on July 26, 2010 at 9:00 PM

I am not sure what the technical term is when the computer monitor shuts off while the CPU keeps running, but I appreciate that when it does happen that it’s a mecanism that allows the computer to conserve some energy. It’s still functioning, but in a way we could say that it is recharging or on the verge of engaging the ‘ REEBOOT’ button. This process is important, for this recharging process mirrors what the NIGHT TIME is suposed to be for Man, in Gods eyes.
The moment our reebooting is fully engaged we would be fully rejuvinated and ready for the next wave of Kingdom work.

The changes that we have made and have yet to make have already gotten me excited. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the future.
