Taking Me Back…

We had a home gathering last night, in Lima, Peru, that took me back to 1986.   That was the year salvation came to the Rivera household.

For three years prior, my mother prayed and fasted for us.  She also went through a very intense spiritual and emotional trial.  We didn’t understand it at first, but now we know that she fought a spiritual fight that prepared the way of the Lord by building a highway for Him to revolutionize our destinies.

We immediately began home prayer meetings where 30-40 people would pack the house; many received the Lord and miracles were a common occurrence! Those days were defining moments for me; for it was then that I received the call of God into the ministry.

Last night, in Lima, Peru, we had a similar home gathering.  It was a meeting full of people who were anxious to hear the word of the Lord. The word was preached, we prayed and the power of the Lord fell on the people. It was an Acts 10 experience. Unbelievers put their trust in the Lord and many people were overwhelmed by the power of God.  The presence of the Lord was present in a powerful way; people were free – “Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom…” – 2 Cor. 3:17.

Pastors Laz and Janet of Iglesia Casa de Luz, have been fighting the same good fight of faith as my mother did.  And the results of it are bringing forth a great harvest!  They are planting this church in the power of God with signs and wonders following the preaching of His Word.  They’re in a very exciting season – God is definitely doing His work! GOOD TIMES!

Rejoicing with Pastors Laz and Janet knowing that this is the beginning for them. They have never given up and for that God will reward them. Lima, Peru will be won for the Kingdom of God.

Pastor, reading this blog put so much joy in my heart! WHY?,

Because I marvel at the miracles that have come out of your

mother’s praying and fasting: you and your family were saved,

you became a pastor and are raising a loving Christian family

with an awsome wife and great children. Your love of JESUS is

being past on to so many people and two very special people are

in Peru bringing Christ to lost people. Thanks to you for giving

me inspiration to not be religious but concentrate on my relation

    ship with my Heavenly Father!!
