The Habit of Finishing

It is not how you begin but it is how you end.    The ability to finish is the key to proper transitions in life.  God will never trust a person in a higher level of living if that person has not been faithful in completing his objectives in the prior level.

Understanding the value of finishing is paramount.  A person, who diminishes the ethics of finishing, is one who will never transition properly to their completed purpose.  When one achieves a completed purpose, one dies.  Purpose is always consummated at death. One’s destiny is a destination.  Destination is arrived via a journey.  Life is that journey and completed purpose is the end of that journey.

How do we get there?  How can we get to the place when we know we have accomplished everything that has been assigned to us?

Those are hard yet very legitimate questions.  The answers are difficult.  But there is one answer. It is in developing the habit of FINISHING.

Our life in Christ is a series of acts of obedience to directives that are given to us by God.  Label it whatever you want to label it… your calling… your mission. It is exactly that, an instruction given by God that will require less of you and more of him.  It will require faithfulness and the giving of your life.  We all are given this.  It may be in full-time ministry, part-time ministry, volunteer ministry, market place ministry, etc.  Nevertheless, it is a directive given to a person that becomes part of their identity.  And the completion of this directive will only cause an evolution of purpose. Obtaining the full confidence in knowing one’s directive is pivotal, knowing how to complete that directive is imperative.

Finishing is a habit. Habits determine our future… The practice of finishing is a learned habit.  Let’s finish well IMPACT CHURCH.  Let’s be finishers in all we do!

Pastor you have instill this in us many times, it is about how we finisih. I know that we have not completely accomplished or finished our task until we die. My prayer is that I do not loose any opportunity that will allow me to fulfill the task that God has called me to do and that when I die He will be please and say well done my faithful servant. I must continue to move forward. Good blog.

I think I’m guilty of not being a good finisher. I will pray this over my own life as well as Impact Church especially when it comes to the things of God. I want to be able to discern and identify the mark/assignment and carry it through to completion. Thank God Jesus did not quit when the cross he had to bear got heavy. We should all keep that in mind.

To me what it means to finish something is to get it done right and if there is problem ahead of completing it then pray that he can help complete it. We must continue to move forward.

For me the journey is awesome, challenging and always new each time. I’m thankful for the journey because of where it takes me and what I learn from it. The key is to always keep moving forward. The end(finish line) is always near if we stay focused and keep our eyes on Him and that new door is always around the corner.

I just pray that I will finish and it will be pleasing to God. May the goals be written, God driven and accomplished.

Whatever task we are doing, Always remember to take time to Enjoy:
for God is always with us. However big or small the task is God
is there. To laugh and sing while I am doing anything that I really
do not want to do really make God happy and upsets the devil. So
let finish everything we start and sing praise to the Lord! Shaback!

We have to learn to be finishers. The only way to be promoted to another level is by finishing the last level or the current level. As believers I know that the only way to be promoted in our spiritual life is by listening to God and obey Him. When we are obedient and we finish the task that God give us, we will get to the next level.
