The Secret to God’s Possibilities

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27)

Although this is a universal truth concerning the power of God working in our temporal impossibilities, we tend to forget its context.  We like to quote this verse whenever we believe God for resources, favor, possessions, etc.  And rightly so, it should be quoted and understood that we, as humans, operate in an extremely limited realm, but God operates in the realm of our impossibilities!

But reading this verse in its context gives it a different angle and brings about another sobering truth.  The context of this verse is taken from Jesus’ conversation with the Rich Young Ruler (read Mark 10:17-29).

The verse has to do with the ability of paying the price to follow Jesus.  The Rich Young Ruler, who thought he could gain eternal life through selfrighteousness, left with his head hung low after Jesus, pretty much, exposed his true motives.   After he left, Jesus quoted, “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”   Then the disciples asked, “…if these guys can’t make it who can? Who can be saved?”  Then came the famous verse…“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

The verse says to us that it is impossible to serve God and give your life for the cause of the Gospel with your own will power and selfrighteousness.  Jesus was not bashing rich people, He was only stating that anyone who values their possessions more than the message, call and cause of the Gospel will not inherit the Kingdom of God.  But, if we submit our lives completely in humility and embrace the call of God, we exit our impossibilities and enter into God’s realm of possibilities.  Yes, you can “have your cake and eat it.”  Jesus basically said that anyone who does this would receive a reward not just in heaven but in this age also! (read verse 29)  We begin to live in the realm of Gods possibilities.

When we pay the price to follow Him; He pays us back very well!

How difficult has it been for you in removing yourself and your stuff  from being before the purpose and will of God in your life?  Do you think you can do what Jesus asked the Rich Young Ruler to do?

I think that sacrificing everything that we posses for Jesus should be that difficult, but is prerequisite to be a true disciple. Our hearts has to be clean and flesh-free ready to receive Him as our Lord and Savior, The Light who will guide us into our path.

And another we have to realize that Jesus never said nothing that leaving your possession will be pain free and easy. We have to be ready to endure suffering and tears because He will give us peace that surpass understnading and will give us strenght like the eagle

God please show us how to life in passion for your presence, in need for your spirit and in desire for know You more.

I think as believers we have to keep in mind that living this life outside of God’s will is not an option. There’s nothing in this world more valuable than the love, grace & mercy God has shown us. Even 100 years on earth, full of riches & without troubles could compare with eternity with the Father. An eternity seperated from him, in hell, is scarier than anything this world could throw my way.

There has been many times in my life in which it has been very difficult to let go and let GOD because I have wanted to control it all. Due to my life experiences and challenges I do believe that I could do what Jesus asked the Rich Young Ruler. Material riches does not bring the Joy of the Lord.

When you think about all the possibleities that God has for us. IT is very awsome what he can do. We must believe the word and live by it to inherit the wonderful richs that he has in store for us.

I guess it is easier said than done. I think I can do what the rich young ruler did. I had to do something a little similar before and it was not easy at all. Now that I look back I know why God gave me the opportunity to make that decision. I just pray that I be found faithful. Now I believe that I am getting out out of the steps of comfort and I am on the way to reaching my potential. It is hard to move away from stuff, but at the end of the day God will always be there and my relationship with him is worth so much more. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. God is faithful.

For me is hard to give up your life to God when your securities and “responsibilities” are in the balance. Now that I’m becoming older things are changing and the pressures of life get stronger and stronger. But I trust God with all my heart and I know I have failed Him many times but I will continue to be faithful to his Word and I will hold His promises tight. As you said Pastor obeying God will and giving our lives to Him through humility, God will bless us in Heaven and in Earth He will supply all our needs.

AWESOME blog.. I am a testimony of “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” What God has done in me no one could ever do. My faith arises every time I remember where and who I was knowing that our compassionate God rescued me, washed me, healed me, restored me and to top it off provides for me….. I love Jesus the Christ !!!

As I got older I often wondered why I placed such value on material
things. They certainly do not bring me any real peace. The only
peace that I have found is with my relationship with God. With Him
I now have fun, peace, love and joy! My security is in Him. ” The
true reality is that love and service are the real reason for being.”

I have asked myself this question many times, and the answer is?.Am I doing it? Am I giving Jesus my all. I may not be rich like the rich man, but in my own way, am I giving my riches to serve God.. I must say I would love to say yes, but if im honest, there is room to give more. I want to not walk away in shame and regret, but give with joy and freedom.I pray that by His grace and power living in me I will be able to give, give, give!!

It’s hard but I think as you mature that changes and it becomes easier to take on God’s will in your life. We can all “Do” what Jesus asked the rich young ruler to do, but it’s more of a question of “will” we. If I’m in my will then I won’t. Daily I ask God to lead the way. I thank him for his grace and mercy. I’ll admit, I am slow to get it, but I’m going and recognizing the potential that God sees.
