THREE POSITIONS

I believe the Lord always gives to us a Word for every season we are in.  My heart is full of expectation as He guides and leads us through our process of change.  I’m currently preparing a new message series for the mid-fall season titled, Seated With Christ. And in it, I’m hearing the Lord speaking to me personally about who I am and why I do what I do…A definite motive revealer and adjuster

In the epistle to the Ephesians, the Apostle Paul talks about three positions of Christian function that we, as the church, have to comprehend…they are SEATING (Eph 2:6) WALKING (Eph. 4:1) and STANDING (Eph. 6:14).

As Christians it’s very easy to become more “walk” (doing works) oriented than any of the other two.  As a mater of fact, we usually never reach the “standing(victorious warfare) position of our faith because our “walk” is so dysfunctional.  And the reason for this is that we develop a thwarted understanding of what it means to be “SEATED in Christ(Identity).

For the record, all of who we are and what we do comes from our perceptivity of  “being seated” with Christ.  I can’t wait to jump into this teaching… Good stuff!

Be expecting!

I can’t wait! – this is going to be a great study! I can’t just be about one of the three, and we must not refuse the times of “seating”.

This message series sounds like it’s going to be, just like you said, a great revealer of why we do what we do. Before we can truly walk or stand in God’s victory, we first need to really understand who we are in Him, both personally and as a body.

I look forward to hearing the upcoming highlights about this theme. Seated, as I understand it, reminds me of staying focused in my Christian walk, and doing as the Apostle Paul stated. Just ‘ keep pressing on towards the mark of the higher calling.

If “pray give go” are the verbs of Christianity, I think that “sit walk stand” has to the the verbs that every Christian individually has to do in his/her relationship with God. This new series looks really good can’t wait to hear more about it.

I think it’s hard for us to start out as “babies” in Christ as adults because we think we know it all already. Truth is we need to sit in His presence so that in all we do we realize we are nothing without Him. Then we can walk in Him – soley to create new disciples… And that is when victory comes. And NO other way…. Having money or security is no victory. It’s a bi product. Victory is more souls for Jesus. Period.
